The breakfast, brought to us by Mike at the exact time requested, was excellent. The location is particularly well-placed for a one-or-two night stay if visiting Southwell or Newark.

I was a little worried that it could be a slightly noisy location when I booked it, but it wasn't. In fact it was a "silent night."

*READ FULL REVIEW The accommodation itself is as advertised: two small cabins in the back garden of a house, each with hot tubs, adjacent to a dog kennel (they do warn you about their barking after you book). The room was basic and a little tired but the hot tub was pre-warmed for our arrival which was a welcome touch.

Breakfast-orange juice good; commercial sweet muffin and sweet instant porridge poor; piece of fresh fruit good. Teabags, coffee, biscuits good; fresh milk excellent. This is a hard water area so a cheap 39p 2 litre bottled water would have been appreciated for use in kettle. This is a very quiet accommodation despite being on the main road which gives easy access. Car parked directly outside door on private drive.

Sef and Shaan are just fantastic hosts! We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and wanted for nothing during our stay. Food amazing, cottage quaint, warm clean and comfortable in a quiet location. We took our 2 dogs and they were made as welcome as us. We highly recommend a stay at Tumbleweed Cottage so much so we are returning in December.

Lovely warm welcome. The Lions is beautifully decorated and maintained. We had a very nice twin room overlooking the charming garden. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Coffee, tea and water were provided in the room and we enjoyed sitting in the cosy lounge. We were leaving before breakfast and Pablo provided us with a container with delicious fresh fruit and smoked salmon and avocado sandwiches that made the early start and (sadly) chaos on the trains, more bearable!

I travel nationwide for work and often stay away, I was lucky enough to come across Shaan and Stefs home, Tumbleweed. The guys are great hosts and couldn’t do enough for me. The property is clean, comfortable and quiet - perfect if you’re working away or looking for a quiet get away. Fair to say I will be returning in a couple of weeks when I’m next working in the area. Thank you guys.

What a fabulous, quirky, eclectic guest house. The decor is so well done. Clean & homely with friendly host and a lovely breakfast. So reasonably priced, better than chain hotels. Great location to stay as we were collecting a motorhome from Brownhills
