The fact they do breakfast was the reason why we booked, however i was pleasantly surprised to find that the bed and breakfast was amazing value for money. Breakfast was served piping hot with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. What more could you of asked for 👍 🙏

Very lovely and cosy stay.
The room was clean. Very warm too given that it was freezing outside.
Nice personal touches to the property.
Loved that it had a place to clean your boots right outside!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Wonderful stay at the Glen Guest House with a fantastic breakfast. Great location, close to the train station, shop, pub, but also not too far to go to Kendal and Windermere.
Pauline and Bill were absolutely lovely, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic hosts! Would happily stay again…in fact we plan to go back in August.
Pauline and Bill's guest house is wonderful! Our room was quiet and clean and overlooking a serene little bit of forest. The room was a spacious suite which had a comfortable sofa separate to the bed. Breakfast was warmly cooked for us by Pauline and it was delicious, with fine local pork. We highly recommend this charming little guest house!
Yvonne is a wonderful host who was incredibly kind to me when I received bad news whilst staying at the guest house. She will go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. The property is a great location by the river and an easy walk up into town. Free parking on the streets outside. Compared to other places I looked at, this property was considerably cheaper and it proved good value for money.
Great location close to town centre with parking nearby. Friendly discrete host who keeps exceptional level of cleanliness. The room was quiet and comfortable overlooking the garden and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay again.
Super host (Yvonne) - lovely person, very accommodating and obviously really cares about her guest house (and guests!). Great location over the river close to town. Eco-friendly products in the bathroom and local coffee. And freshly homemade shortbread!
Great hidden location, quiet, yet just seconds walk to wonderful everything in Kendal.
We all really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic to each have a great room and double bed. Thankyou, great hosts.
