Finding the house was easy, and there is off road parking outside the property. We were welcomed by both of our hosts at the gate and shown to our room, Assistance was given with our luggage and we soon settled in and made ourselves some coffee in our room, where ample tea/coffee/sugar/milk was supplied, along with biscuits. The room was modern, large, clean, carpeted, and comfortable, with tv, dressing table, wardrobe, drawers, bedside cabinets, and two comfy chairs and a coffee table with dominoes and cards. The en-suite has a shower, toilet and washbasin, and ample room for some quirky items such as a plant in an old hip bath, and a wooden rocking horse! Breakfast was delicious and my veggie preferences were catered for without any fuss, Cereal, juice, tea/coffee, delicious chunky slices of wholemeal toast, butter, marmalade, full english, fresh fruit, etc. We slept well, ate well, and enjoyed chatting with our fellow guests over breakfast. The house is warm, welcoming, full of interesting quirky items... and we will most likely be booking again!

A lovely hotel in a lovely location for exploring north Yorkshire. Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent service and we were made to feel really welcome. The food was definitely 5 stars with good efficient and friendly service. The room was lovely and cozy and well stocked with complimentary's. The lounge area was lovely as was the bar and the restaurant.

My husband and I called here last year by chance after walking in the area. The place was bustling and seemed a really nice pub and we were reluctant to leave. We decided there and then we would love to return and stay over and booked it for my birthday this year. The staff were friendly and welcomed us. The pie we ate for our evening meal was excellent and one of the best we've had out. The bed in the room was comfortable.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The whole experience was excellent, as was Rachel's hosting skills. It was very clear that her only concern was for her guests to be happy, to be comfortable and relaxed!
The cooked full english breakfast was delicious, so thank you to who cooked it (sry didn't get your name) it was yummy and all the extras that was available, fresh fruit salad, coissants, cereals, yogurts was yummy too.
Such a lovely village and gorgeous bed and breakfast. Everything is held to a high standard and really clean. We stayed in the Kirkdale room, which was beautifully decorated and had a REALLY comfy bed. The wifi was also great and fast. The breakfast was amazing, probably our highlight. The host was very nice and made sure we were well looked after. We also recommend the local pub ‘The Crown’.
Beautiful house in a wonderful location. Very authentic and a comfortable good sized room. The lounge was nice and comfortable and breakfast was relaxed and tasty. Ruth was a great host.
The property is in a great location for walks in the dales and to explore the surrounding area. The house and host were fabulous and couldn’t do enough to help, from an amazing full English to helps with walks from the accommodation.
