Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
A wonderful private apartment, with owners who have great local knowledge.
Friendly owners, but of course leave you to your privacy - but let you know to contact them if you need anything at all (as they are just next door).
Great location beside a river with lots of wildlife and country walks. Really out in the middle of nature.
Lots of birds up at the birdfeeder viewable from kitchen table and also a nesting box with a family of bluetits.
The owners and the apartment really were spot-on.
The host Allison stayed up until we arrived to check in, she was so helpful showed us the place, and asked if we needed anything or had forgotten something.
The place was clean and exactly as the pictures online
The nature there is beautiful and the vacation home has a really nice garden to enjoy the surroundings during the day and to do some stargazing at night. The hosts were very kind and generous. The dishwasher was an unexpected but welcome bonus.
FYI for dog owners: There is no fence around the house, so it is not possible to let your dog roam around in the garden unattended. However, a nice path into the woods and by the river to walk the dog.
Nice place, sheeps and birds, fresh air, stream in front of the cottage. A cosy place for retreat. Host are friendly and helpful. I Should have spent more days in here...
The comfy suite with everything I needed; the warm welcome and hospitality throughout my stay from the perfect hosts, thank you; the sheer beauty of the surrounding nature; peace and tranquillity.
Beautiful peaceful setting. Surrounded by trees and plenty of birdlife around. Especially loved hearing the owl at night. Stars were amazing as no light pollution. Hosts Alison and Bill were a Godsend!
Fantastic setting with scenic trails close by, all amenities available so didn't feel we needed anything more. Good views from accommodation too with added bird box outside kitchen, enjoyed seeing a Blue Tit nest building during our stay as well.
Whilst there we met Alison and Bill who were super helpful. All in all a fantastic break away.
Roads were quiet whilst we were investigating the area, felt remote and so part of countryside with more activity in the way of pubs/attractions 20 mins away.
