Very warm welcome from Neil. He showed me my room, how everything worked and even told me a bit about the area. Good communication from Neil when arranging my check-in time. Sink in bedroom, despite not being an ensuite. Nicely designed guest house in general. Some cereal and tea/coffee provided. Good sized room with everything I needed. Good location very near city centre and easily reachable.

The Jays Guest House, hotel in Dyce

The Jays Guest House is a centrally located 4 star establishment. The recently decorated and tastefully furnished bedrooms have either en suite or private facilities.

I was a student at the University of Aberdeen between 2010-2014. Having visited only once since, I decided to visit again, this time with my partner. The things we both really liked included: 1. The overall communication. Although we did not get a chance to meet the owners as our check-in time was somewhat late and checkout rather early, Anna's communication regarding ways to check-in, details about breakfast, house rules, and places to see nearby were communicated by a detailed text and an incredibly informative video. 2. The space itself was incredibly homely. It's lovely to stay in. Had we stayed longer I would have loved to sit in the living room for a bit and read. 3. Aberdeen is generally a small city, but this location was ideal for me. It is a stone's throw away from the University and we both quickly went on a walk around the University, then through Seaton park towards the Brig O Balgownie and then back over the Esplanade. My partner loved the beach. 4. The room itself was lovely. We loved the owner's aesthetic sensibilities. The place was clean, the shower was great, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

Comfy bed ,clean bathroom . On the ground floor , being able to use the kitchen to store some milk in the fridge .I was told I could use the microwave and fridge . There was a garden area that you could sit in but no other people were using it so I didn't . Bus stop not far away for getting to town .

Within walking distance of Aberdeen Airport which was essential as I had to be at the airport at 4.30am! Continental breakfast was available from 4am which made a difference. Quiet location, easy to get to on the 727 bus from the city centre which drops you off on International Ave. Friendly and efficient staff. Felt safe as a solo traveller.

I stayed here pre mobilization to offshore, from OHS terminal it was a 2 min drive or a 5 min walk, great location if you are having to pay for own accommodation rather than the company pay for it, they also provide a quaint little breakfast to tee up the day ahead.
