The location was very central and near to the museum and main street.
The room was very spacious and comfortable and warm, with a huge bed, two small armchairs and a separate desk and table.
There was a large bathroom with shower and fluffy towels.
There was a separate area for making coffee and tea (mostly Fairtrade - hooray!) and a coffee machine.
There was a list of choices for breakfast - order the previous evening.
The hosts were excellent - relaxed and very friendly and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay and would definitely stay again.

Location , staff and cleanliness, breakfast was excellent.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Loved it. It was like stepping back to a simpler time. Host was super friendly and accommodating. She even greeted us when we arrived. Great location, really quiet and decent wifi too. Highly recommended.
Excellent location for exploring inland Dorset. Easy walking distance to plenty of restaurants. Charming host with plenty of ideas for things to do and tips on restaurants. Very clean with no outdoor shoes in bedrooms rule. 4 private parking spaces on first come, first served basis. In reality, this worked well and we had a place every day. Would strongly recommend this guest house, an oasis of peace in the centre of Dorchester.
We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast was exceptional. The room was very nice and it felt really welcoming. Having fresh milk delivered to your door each morning was a lovely touch. The location is great, it is only 5 minutes by car from Dorchester but you are in beautiful countryside. It was very quiet and the owners were great hosts. We will be returning in the summer for sure.
Great location for exploring Thomas Hardy country. Loved seeing wildlife from the balcony including an otter in the river 🙂. Nicola was a great host and the breakfasts were delicious
Spacious twin room with ample light, quiet & plenty of tea, coffee etc.
The bathroom was spacious & a really good shower.
Parking & location were perfect. 3 min walk into town.
Mark was a great host. Knowledgeable & friendly.
We booked here as was dog friendly and for a surprise visit to the grandchildren and was excellent value for money. Bed comfortable didn't want to leave it! .
Was greeted with a lovely cuppa on arrival
Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, juice, and full English with pastries and yoghurts. Hosts were great and nothing too much trouble . Already said we will be back. Loved the old feel to it with wooden beams. Cute and quaint. Lovely river walk nearby for the dog too.
