Hillsdale B&B in Ambleside, hotel in Dockray

Built from traditional Lakeland stone, Hillsdale B&B in Ambleside offers fresh cooked breakfasts and bright bedrooms with private bathrooms.

Steve and Caz have been wonderful hosts during our stay. We received good recommendations from them even before we arrived as to the amenities and restaurants in the vicinity which was very helpful. In addition to that, they provided us with the maps of the walking tours free of charge. The rooms were immaculate with a very personal touch to each room. The breakfast each morning was exceptional and catered to each and every guests dietary needs and delight. I would highly recommend their accommodation as it is not only within walking distance to everything in the village including the bus stops and walking routes but also because it is a quaint and comfortable experience into the traditional English abode in the country. Thank you Steve and Caz. We shall be back. Al & Yans

Great location, especially if you travel with a dog. There are some farm animals nearby but they are fenced. The cottage is spacious, quiet so you can easily relax. Since there is a kitchen you can cook there which is great. When we visited it was Sep and was warm so no complaints about that!
