From the moment when we walked through the door Adam was at pains to make us welcome. He is an excellent manager and credit to the hotel.
During our stay the staff were brilliant. The food , both breakfast and evening meals were superb. The room was spotless and very comfortable.

Lydford house is so much better than a chain hotel.
The hotel is family owned, and we were dealt with throughout by the owner.
The service could not be faulted, and I have no hesitation in recommendiing this establishment to other couples.

The room was very compact but in a good way! Very warm and thoughtfully laid out
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
A very welcoming and charming host. The cottage is quiet and cosy in the beautiful village of Chagford where the people are friendly, the scenery amazing and local walks take you into river valleys and up to the edge of Dartmoor. Really interesting local shops and cafes. One of the best cottages we've ever stayed at.
Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The area was quaint and quiet. The price was reasonable which made it affordable for us. The breakfast and atmosphere were just right. All the staff we spoke to were polite, helpful and made us feel welcome. The hotel was a historic building which added to its magic.
The cottage was adorable. Lots of lovely touches like a tray laid out for tea when we arrived. The bed was incredibly comfortable which was wonderful. Beautiful garden with added bonus of some rosemary and thyme in pots for cooking. Chagford is a great place to be based, four good pubs, butcher, two bakeries, a dairy, Spar, couple of farm shops and several cafes. We didn't use the car once while we were visiting as there were enough walking options to keep us busy. Frances and Peter were great hosts.
Cozy apartment and very quiet. It was a great location to be based at to explore the area.
Everything was clean and it was nice to have manuals available for all the appliances
Great location, small boutique hotel. Comfortable bed, delicious breakfast.
