It is very homely and comfortable, quiet at night and the views are incredible. Vanessa and Jim are lovely and the breakfast is a good selection, freshly cooked. Pancakes are my favourite.

Lovely B&B, beautifully decorated, good-sized rooms with en-suite. The breakfast was great (although served from 8 am onward), and the staff friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so the rooms are not cleaned during your stay (I stayed 4 nights). The location is great, within walking distance from the station and the city centre.

Great location, the most beautiful street in Durham I think! The man who was on reception was incredibly nice and friendly. Similarly the staff at breakfast. The room was great. Everything was spotless and beautifully taken care of.
I would come back.
Just off junction 61 of the A1M, The Old Mill is a traditional English Inn offering excellent food all day and en suite bedrooms. Durham is just 5 miles away.

really lovely clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Friendly and helpful host. Really liked helping ourselves to breakfast and enjoyed the lookout over the fields
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
It was what I expected, lovely country side and to wake up and have such a view from both windows. Slept very well. Very warm welcoming and excellent hosts.
Ample parking was available. The hosts are helpful, considerate, and lovely people to stay with. There are many small touches throughout the house and the room that made me feel welcome, including fresh cut flowers in the room and in the common areas. The breakfast room and separate lounge are beautifully decorated, a pleasure to sit in and enjoy. Breakfasts are superb, better than most and very flexible with the choices on offer, with home-made jams and honey.
Beautiful property in a stunning location. The hosts go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is AMAZING. Great place to stay for visiting Durham.
My son is starting university in Durham. I am very happy that we found Anita and Ian's house, which is under 20 minutes from Durham city centre. The house is very comfortable, clean and quiet, really well equipped and it was very easy to communicate with the hosts. We will surely return!
Lovely house in quiet area, but within walking distance of shops and amenities, House was spacious, comfy and cosy, beautifully decorated and well equipped and exceptionally clean. Great base for a short break. We stayed here to visit Crookfest - only 10 minutes or so away on foot, great location.
Real find - great place and really well set up and spacious. A beautiful place to relax and great location between Durham and the North Pennines. Marie, the host, is very responsive and helpful.
Location great-handy for town centre and handy for Weardale/Teesdale/countryside in general/bright lights of the coastal cities. Quiet apart from rush hour (school up the road) but that is not a big deal. Friendly host. We had no problems parking on the road.
