All the extra effort and details put in show clear consideration for the guests. The husband and wife hosts evidently have put great thought into making it a really special stay for every guest. Lovely room, delicious dinner and incredible breakfast and cater to all dietary needs (my partner can’t have gluten or dairy). They are so welcoming and warm and you just feel like a VIP. Cannot recommend enough.

My partner and I recently stayed at Wildercombe House, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm and attentive hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome. We were unsure if we were going to make it in a Friday night in time for check in but communicated with Anne-Marie who gave us a contact number incase we got stuck! Luckily we didn’t :)
Our room was beautifully appointed—spacious, immaculately clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the comfortable bedding to the little touches that made the space feel so inviting.
One highlight of our stay was the exceptional service from the host. On our first morning, we were going to miss breakfast due to taking part in the local Parkrun, but the host thoughtfully prepared a breakfast box for us to enjoy upon our return —a gesture that went above and beyond and made our day even more enjoyable.
The breakfast the following morning was equally impressive, with a wide variety of delicious, freshly prepared options served in a bright and welcoming dining area.
The location of Wildercombe House was ideal for our getaway—peaceful and relaxing yet close to the beautiful North Devon coast and local attractions. Whether you’re seeking a base for exploring the area or just looking for a tranquil retreat, it’s perfectly situated.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this charming bed and breakfast. Alison was incredibly attentive to our needs, ensuring we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Location was good-close to amenities and a short journey to the seafront. Quiet area, no road noise. Room was immaculately decorated, very well presented, and perfect size for two people. Bed was comfortable with a good supply of bedding and pillows. Cleanliness was obvious throughout. Hosts were polite, informative and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding with a good range of choice and high quality ingredients and presentation.

We were thankful for the parking behind the guesthouse. Our room was on the back of the house which was nice and quiet. Enjoyed the honesty bar in the sunroom. Our lovely hostess recommended the Dolphin pub down the road for dinner. Great dinner, great breakfast, great stay.
Great location for exploring North Devon. cottage was very clean and well equipped. Play area and field was great for our daughter and dog and Zak was a great host.
