I stayed at the Epicerie vieille du Puy on a trip to visit family and it was the cutest place I could I wished to stay at. It's in the vieux Puy so very central and walkable distance from all amenities.
Everything had been polished by time but it doesn't feel raggedy and the room are really clean too.
Breakfast is great and the hospitality of the owner is fantastic too.
It felt like being in my great grandmother house,so if you are after a little time capsule experience this is for you!

Antoine the owner went out of his way by staying very late for me when flooding blocked the roads to Le Puy en Velay. He is a gentleman & kept messaging me with weather report updates. The rooms are in the centre of the old town and they and the breakfast were excellent.

The location was beautiful by the river Loire. Very unique house with beautiful, unusual decor. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Nice bedding and towels. The host was very accommodating and friendly. Home made products for breakfast were delicious. Highly recommended.

Superb views over Le Puy. Well appointed suite of rooms. Very clean. Warm welcome by hosts. Not many metres from the cathedral - 2 minutes walk - great location for Pilgrims Mass.

The host was genial, generous and a fascinating person to speak with, and he gave us excellent recommendations about places to go and restaurants. He gave us the best breakfasts imaginable, bringing us delicious local produce. The decor is totally old school, which we loved; the place really has heart and soul, you can sense its history. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, with fine quality bedding. The street is quiet, in a good neighborhood, and one could sleep well.

The room is upstairs within a hosts home. It is extremely quiet, clean and newly renovated with very comfortable beds. The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. They provided us with a drink and home made biscuits on arrival. The home cooked breakfast was great. Tea and coffee making facilities also provided. Off street parking provided. A short walk to the restaurants and old town. Lots to see and do in this town.
