The property is in a beautiful location overlooking the Luberon and we were blessed to have the room with the terrace and view of Mont Ventoux to wake up to each morning. A very peaceful environment to return to each evening after travelling around in the local area. The hosts were very kind and helpful.

Rognes is a pretty village, about 20km away from Aix, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's well located for exploring Provence. The accommodation is in a beautifully restored house with a fabulous terrace and gardens with pool overlooking Mt Ventoux. Sophie and her husband are welcoming hosts. Breakfast, with delicious local produce, is served on the private terrace. There is free parking in the village, a short walk from the house.

The house stands majestically on the hill overlooking the town. It's a beautiful building with a gentle, kind owner. There are so many lovely features of the main building, but they were overshadowed by a general lack of maintenance and keeping on top of things. The pool was beautiful and cool. Access was challenging due to the vast amount of wasps using it too! The spacious house that we stayed in was lower down the estate and very private, quiet too, considering that a vehicle mechanic ran his business in the barn workshop next to us. In the end, it was no trouble, just unexpected. The rest of the building we stayed in was made up of two unfinished apartments, a private rental home, and the other holiday let. Whilst the fenced outside area that came with the apartment was clear and functional with a lovely view, just on the other side of the fence was a digger, cement mixer and an area for building stones, bricks, etc. This made us feel that we were in the "staff area," not a holiday location. The holiday house it's self had a fresh coat of paint on the inside, and two of the three beds were very comfortable. All bedding and towels were lovely and clean. The rooms were spacious. Brilliant fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Fans were provided for the heat. It was just a little under maintained. The door handles for the bedroom and the front door, the loose bathroom light, the missing mosaic tiles in the kitchen, the very worn middle cushion of the sofa, the door flynet, the shower head, the large dip in the mattress of one of the single beds, lack of kitchen cutlery and crockery. All above needed attention for a holiday home and will be quick fixes. We didn't complain mainly because Bruno is such a lovely man plus it wasn't the most expensive stay and we knew in advance that it was a little rustic and 'well loved' but still feel like we need to share the reality of it.
Set next to La route Royale de Toulon à Sisteron, Le Relais du Grand Logis is housed in a 16th-century coaching inn.

The hotel is located in a building from the 16th century. It is very impressive and maintained very well. The owners are very nice and helpful. The room is big and cosy. The bed is very comfortable, and the shower is very nice. Strong WIFI and free parking. nice little pool. Breakfast is great, generous and fresh. Price is very reasonable.

Once we ce managed to find it in the centre of this very quiet village, it was ideal. We could see across the entire valley of the Durance and reach Lourmarin in 5 minutes. Our bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts, Bruno and Francine, gave us the warmest welcome and provided a lovely breakfast each morning.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The property was exceptional and very well kept. It has met all our expectancies being in a very quite area amongst nature, yet very near the main areas we wished to visit - Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Marseille. The cottage was clean and the amenities well equipped and comfortable. It has a private parking, a fully equipped kitchen. The host made us feel welcome and was supportive whenever asked to. Highly recommended.
Great host, so friendly and keen to help and also speaks good English. Place is fantastic, built to high specification. Area is beautiful, so much to do in the surroundings, Aix is about 20 mins by car, very close.
Will certainly return in the future!
In just few words: it's like home! Well equipped with everything you need and more, charming, cozy, comfortable and peaceful. We slept very well! The welcoming was perfect: we loved the tapenade and the delicious cake. If you would like some quiet days and nights but be close enough to some of the most lovely places, this is the place to stay! Thank you Anne for everything!
