JunoGîte - Résidence, hotel in Hermanville-sur-Mer

Located in the Normandy region, JunoGîte Résidence is in the centre of Bernières-sur-Mer and an 8-minute walk from Juno beach.

I stayed here with my father to visit the Normandy landing beaches. Everything was perfect. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a very useful kitchen. The location is brilliant and Juno beach and its attractions are all walkable from the residence. The owner was amazing and very accommodating in every respect. We have nothing but praise.

Clos Saint Martin, hotel in Hermanville-sur-Mer

Set in a 16th-century renovated historic mansion in Caen city centre, this B&B features a terrace, a floral courtyard with outdoor furniture and spacious rooms with a private bathroom.

This was my second visit to this hotel - my first was two years earlier when I had an excellent suite of rooms in the main 18th century building, where all the eight bedrooms are served by an original stone spiral staircase. My recent visit however was based in an adjoining separate building called "Gite - Cottage" with its own front door and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. Very well equipped, recently modernised, and looking onto the sheltered courtyard in front of the hotel. The situation of the hotel is remarkable, as it is not visible from the Place Saint Martin. On my first visit it took me some 10 minutes to find the entrance, which is through an archway with a locked gate, but once found I used the code which the hotel had provided. After that all was well. The more modern houses built directly onto the square provide privacy and tranquillity for the courtyard and hotel behind them. The proprietor, a remarkable man called David, has excellent English, and is most helpful and friendly. He also has good taste, which is apparent throughout the design and style of the interior rooms and furnishings. The bedroom for my first visit was called "la Chambre Rouge", as its colour scheme was predominantly red. . The situation of the hotel is admirably placed to afford easy access on foot to the main points of tourist interest in this beautiful city. In particular, and close to the hotel, there is the elegant Hotel de Ville, based in the vast former 18th century monastery buildings. This is right next door to the early Norman church of St Etienne, where there is the tomb of William the Conqueror, who of course was Duke of Normandy before he became King of England. I would be very happy to return to Caen, and stay once more at this hotel.

Super host friendly and helpful and went out of her way to provide an early breakfast of fresh warm bread and croissants straight from the boulangerie. A good restaurant with a sea view also recommended.

I had a great night’s sleep and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast the following morning. The family is friendly and charming and made me feel very welcome in their home. It was quiet, nice and clean and the dog and the cat seemed not at all bothered by strangers. There is a donkey and a cockerel as well apparently but I didn’t see or hear them. When I think of this place in the future I will remember the cat who, I was told, likes Pink Floyd. Cool cat!

A warm welcome from Anna the host. The room nicely furnished with comfy bed and quality bedding. Good shower. Nice outdoor area to sit. Use of open plan kitchen to make hot drinks and store cold ones. Good location for walks into town with British Military cemetery or along sea front promenade. Good off road parking at property. Great location for car ferry ( 10 mins down straight road ). We had to leave at 6.45am for ferry and Anna prepared a breakfast tray for us, which was very kind. Would definitely stay again if in area.
