The owners were very friendly and helpful, even making me hot lemonade for my sore throat. Our room was pleasant and bright and the restaurant had a nice breakfast area as well as a very attractive dining room. There was also a nice grassy area shaded by a tree for outdoor dining affording a beautiful view across the valley. A very good buffet was offered in the morning.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
We came to Auberge de Crissay for the second time and it is still the same lovely place as it was when we first came here in 2019. The auberge is beautifully situated in a rural but stunning area. Flowers everywhere, friendly hosts and lovely food which is served in a field just opposite of the Auberge, so that you can admire the view while you have diner. We arrived early and luckily our room was ready. Soon thereafter we sat by the pool enjoying the nice and quiet scenery.
Second stay here in 2 years in the wonderful room Richlieu. Everything just perfect from the charming Severine and Mark who make you feel so welcome. Fabulous large room and ensuite with open views, lovely swimming pool and serene and quiet small village location. Restaurant, menu and chef and service all beyond expectation. Wonderful adventurous French food and excellent wine list. Near to all the things you might want to do along the Loire but a peaceful haven to go back to.
The property was beautifully presented and in a fantastically rural environment. The pool was located right at the foot of an old ruined chateau. The little village itself was so old world and quaint. It did however lack any shops or cafés of any sort if you were hoping to find a place to visit. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
I really enjoyed my one night stay at the Auberge de Chrissay. I was met with a warm welcome and shown to a very comfortable, well appointed and clean room with stunning views over the Loire Valley. The auberge is located in a beautiful village with very interesting buildings and an old church. Well worth spending a bit of time exploring. The evening meal can only be described as exceptional and breakfast was also excellent and good value for money. Overall, an excellent stay with super friendly and welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend
The location was stunning and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. Plus a fantastic evening meal. Loved it. We wanted to say an extra night but they were fully booked.
Wonderful quiet location. Beautiful views and the added bonus of a swimming pool. We received a warm welcome and the evening meal was fantastic, sat overlooking the countryside and a field full of sunflowers. Great local produce on offer for the buffet breakfast too. Beds were super comfy and everything was very clean, with ample space. Fantastic night’s sleep after a long day of driving from the UK. A great stopover on our way to Spain in a stunning traditional French village. We would definitely return.
Quiet and peaceful castle gem at a small village 10 kms from Azay Chatêau du Rivau and Azay-Le-Rideau castles so very convenient to stay for a night. Plus, the food at the restaurant and petit dejeneur is amazing and fairly priced. The owners are very gentle and the room was spacious and the bed really comfy.
