Breakfasts are sumptuous, and François and Corinne bend over backwards to ensure that you have everything that you need or want. Although the house is very old (a plus as far as I'm concerned) it is modern and comfortable in all the ways that matter.

Absolutely gorgeous guest house right on bike trail. Well equipped bikes storage room for maintenance. Kitchen was one of the best equipped. Fresh baguettes and sausage and cold drinks and wine in shop. Cassoulet au Confit de canard in shop is a MUST for dinner. Edwige (host) provides beautiful pot for cooking.

It was a little bit difficult to find the chateau because it was impossible to believe that one can stay in such an extraordinary building dating from the 1280s. It was like a dream to enter the grounds, park the car in the garden, walk through the 300 year old doorway into a real life museum chateau. One of the owners 200 years ago was a general of Napoleon himself, and the chateau is now filled with hundreds of ephemerae of the age. The recent hosts have dedicated their lives to give new breath to the building and created an unbelievable atmosphere of historic, cultural and architectural masterpiece. Staying in our suite filled with antique furniture made us feel like guests of royalty. We really enjoyed our lively conversation with our hosts who are very knowledgeable on many subjects. They prepared an excellent meal of local produce accompanied by delicious wine from the cellar. Their collection of bed warmers, irons, coffee grinders, illustrations and books about the Napoleonic era can be found in no other museum in the world. We were enchanted by the magic of the place.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great hosts. Amazing bed, really confy atmosphere. Pascalle is an amazing hostess and makes you feel like at home. You can also leave the bikes inside the house. Fantastic place to spend the night!
Ideally situated in a calm location, really close to the Canal the Midi and the Castelnaudary city center. You can just park your car, and walk or cycle everywhere.
The house was clean and well equiped, loads of kitchen tools, a hairdryer, ironing board...
Airconditioning in all rooms!
The little outside area is also really nice for al fresco dining.
Friendly host, good communication.
The beds are small (140*190), but I knew there were 2 bedrooms so we could each sleep diagonally without feet sticking out :-)
The house was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast consisted of freshly baked croissants, a cake (different each day), fresh fruit cup, yoghurt, preserves, selection of teas and coffee. The hosts were extremely friendly, generous and we felt very comfortable staying in their home.
Great location and views. The gite was clean with good facilities, it was great to have a washer and dryer. When we had an issue the host was very helpful and friendly.
Proximity to public transport. The size of the apartment, the fully equipped apartment and the quietness of the apartment. All were excellent and the hosts were most attentive and responsive to our needs.
We had a lovely stay in L'oustal des Fontanilles. It is in a quiet part of town but not far from the centre of town, restaurants etc. Everything was clean, the room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the host was very friendly. Would highly recommend.
A great location just off the canal. Lovely house with a friendly host. We had a room on the top. The bathroom had a bath! Very nice after a days cycling. A short walk into town for restaurants although they do close around 9.30pm. Breakfast was lovely and enough to set you up for the morning.
