Let’s start with location. For me, Toulouse is a perfect place to take a break when heading westward in the south of France. For example if you are going from Nice to La Rochelle the Chateau is a comfortable day’s drive. Situated approximately 8km northwest from the city center and hidden away on the countryside, it is an easy jump back onto the main auto-route (highway) that leads to the west coast and relatively close to the airport as well.
Our host, and his two year old Border Collie, Achilles, warmly welcomed us as we rolled in through their front gates. (#24, use the doorbell/camera to communicate and gain access)
The exterior, interior design, swimming pool all were exactly as pictured in the website. Big bed, beautiful flowers and trees in the large garden.
The owner, a true Renaissance man and motorcyclist, not only has single-handedly done almost all of the remodeling here, but he is a talented amateur chef as well. We had an excellent continental-plus breakfast and on our second night we had a home-made seafood dinner. I believe there are plans to make dinners available with an obligatory advance notice, we were the first “test case”. We were very pleased.
For the practical minded, there are many car repair and service shops along the way, as you will see as you head toward “Fenouillett” - the village where the Chateau is hidden. Also there is an immense shopping mall 2km away with a cinema, basketball shoes, sushi.

Wonderful bed and breakfast in a charming historic town. The host was attentive and the room was outstanding. It was large and beautifully decorated for a romantic encounter. The property is small and attached to an incredible midevil church. I was there for the weekend to attend a wedding but I wish I was there for a longer stay. The breakfast was also very good and brought to the room each morning. Walking distance to town and short drive to Toulouse.

Great location, beautiful building, very high end feel! The pool was very welcoming and appreciated. Nice cooking facilities if you want to do your own cooking.

But most importantly, the hosts are truly remarkable. It is rare to meet such wonderful and hospitable people.
