El Hornillo was truly an extraordinary experience and a wonderful place for hikers. The owner knows a lot about the tracks on Gran Canaria and cooks very delicious and typical canarian dishes in the evening with a lot of care and love. I felt very welcome and comfortable and not only enjoyed the hot shower after a long hike but also one day off on the beautiful rooftop terrace. It is a remote and quiet place where you can relax and enjoy.

You feel like you’re the only people in the world up there. Beautiful views, lovely cat, rustic little place. Was nice having the hottub too! The kitchen is well equipped. The owner was always contactable and really friendly.

It's a nice place with a nice view. Everything is very simple but clean. Yes, you need to climb a little bit, but I don't think it's a problem. The owner doesn't speak English, but it didn't cause us any problems, she is very hospitable! Everything is great! Price - quality, and you have the opportunity to live in a real Canarian house and feel this atmosphere! For real adventurers!

The location is amazing. Reading reviews we were expecting a filthy hovel and unhelpful staff. But actually the volunteers were lovely and it was pretty clean. It is as you'd expect for a hostel. Good and cheap bar too.
The location is the best thing about this hostel. If you like remote, quietness and hiking this is for you. The view is amazing and the sunsets are incredible.
Very quaint house with beautiful surroundings. If you get good weather, it'd be a nice place to peacefully relax after a hike, on the sun loungers in the garden. There's space outside to bbq. Very friendly and responsive host.
Take note that the road leading to the house is very narrow, with sharp bends and steep inclines and drops.
We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable property with great views, private parking, good location for exploring the mountains and a great host. Checking-in was made very easy with good communication with Marta the host. Would recommend.
Exceptional sun bed terrace with views, rustic cave like quality to rooms, traditional not modern but well equipped and quiet. Close to the centre. Parking is fine once the day trippers leave. Host messages are detailed but no direct contact.

The location was very quiet, little village in the mountains. Nice little hut, very cosy clean and comfy, all amenities included. Location is protected from the wind, so it was great to have breakfast at the table outside (although it was Jan). Nice open kitchen and comfy sofa in the living room. Ample storage space, a lot of towels provided, jacuzzi was a nice addition too! And last, but not least - Pablo was a great host, very responsive, provided recommendations about local restaurants, places to visit, etc.
