Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Jorge was amazing- due to the flooding in Banos we were left without a way to get there. He took our last minute reservation and was very accommodating and flexible! He was a huge help and we really appreciate his hospitality!
The place is fantastic, great location and well appointed!
Maria, the host, was very friendly and attentive to all of my questions and concerns.
In general, this is a solid hostel for the price, which is close to many of the markets and interesting parks in Ambato.
Other reviews have noted that the street the hostel is on is not safe. This is not fair. It is a busy street, but it is a safe street.
The staff was polite and helpful and the room was clean, with HOT WATER and really close to one of the bus stations of the city. Since we stayed there only one night between buses, it was exactly what we needed. The neighbourhood is full of fast food places too if you're looking for something cheap and easy to eat.
Great location if just passing through Ambato. Mall near by, lots of small restaurants and street food vendors in the area. Friendly, welcoming staff. Room was clean, comfortable bed, many blankets. Best was the breakfast and the woman serving it.
Clean and beautifully decorated room. Large candelit bath (unused) and very nice hot shower. Large and comfortable bed. Perfect WiFi. Area felt very safe. Really well located next to the two best parks (with amazing topiary) we saw in all of Ambato. The atmosphere on Sundays is particularly great. Just a 20 minute walk into central Ambato. Hosts are charming too. We would not consider staying anywhere else in Ambato.
Beautiful and eclectic style! Such an interesting place. Projection screen with Netflix was great, hosts were very quick to respond and had everything I needed, very accommodating. Why stay at a hotel when you can stay somewhere memorable like this!
