Nestled in middle of nature, beautiful views and lovely farm animals. The location is bit away from Monschau, but walkable distance and quickly to reach by drive. The hosts are very kind, the breakfast was plentiful and the room was very clean and comfortable.
The best part was the view from the room, you wake up watching two beautiful goats, and hearing voices of nature.
Hiking trail to High Fens (Venn) is just a stone throw from the property (highly recommended)
Also best place to stay if you are looking for free and comfortable parking options

Quaint and cozy. Perfect for the location!Ground level floor was second level backyard overlooking a beautiful large property with trees beyond. Nice terrace where we enjoyed wine, cheese and bread from nearby ALDI’s - saw baby deer in the morning. Breakfast included was delicious and generous and even a little bag to take leftovers for sandwich. Host was VERY nice and helpful.

Quiet location, perfect for stargazing as dark spots without light pollution are nearby. The bed and pillows are super extra fluffy and comfortable. Nice view from the room, clean everything, friendly owner :) I recommend!

Room larger than expected.
One lady (the one who cleaned & helped in the kitchen) tried her best to speak English & understand us - thank you so much. Another lady and a gentleman were speaking German & limited English but they also tried to understand us & were very polite.
Breakfast was nice although I think if there was a milk jar on the common table it would be more cost efficient than placing small milk jars on each table that would have waste & you won't be able to reuse the milk.

We had a great stay at Haus Barkhausen during our Christmas holidays! We stayed in one of the smaller apartments: Gartenblick. It was very nice, clean and comfortable, with charming old furniture and provisions for the kitchen, and very well heated for the winter. It was very easy to get there with the bus, as the apartment is very close to the city centre. Our host was also very easy to reach. Will definitely stay again there if we visit Monschau in the future!
Great location, short walk from Monschau old town. Numerous great hiking routes nearby. The appartment itself was spacious and very quiet. Everything was very clean, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The host welcomed us upon arrival and was very friendly and helpfull. Supermarket and shops within 5 minute car drive. We really recommend this place!
The entire reservation process was seamless, from booking the stay, communicating with the hosts, and checking in and out. This historic inn was so quaint, the hosts were absolutely charming, the location was perfect, and the traditional home-cooked European breakfast was delectable! Our children absolutely loved staying in the third floor apartment that had such great space, historic character, yet modern amenities. We hope that we will be able to return someday!
