Absolutely fantastic!
It was the most affordable option in black forest for us, and we had to book within the same day (as our planned apartments were cancelled last moment). I didn't expect a lot, just to spend two nights, but it exceeded all my expectations.
The staff was adorable.
Breakfast was superb, they even had oat milk (my daughter is allergic to cow's milk, any nuts milk and soya, so oat milk is a superb option for us). Nice coffee, many options.
The location is lovely, I thought it would be far from the black forest but it wasn't. A perfect location if you are planning to move to the Alps after exploring the forest.
The room was huge! We didn't even use one of them at all.

Landhaus Engel was one of the highlights of my trip accross Germany. Set deep in the woods of the Black Forest it represents the best of family run German inns. A great welcome (in good English) clean, comfortable and quiet rooms of a generous size (mine with a kitchenette, and seating area) loads of hot water in a walk-in shower, an excellent restaurant well utilised by the locals. Everything just as it should be. I was also given a covered slot for my motorcycle. Well done all round!!

Excellent evening meal in the restaurant good continental breakfast. Possibility for dining al Fresco in the garden if the weather allows. Worth booking the restaurant as can be busy at popular times.
