This place is so magical.. the rooftop is really the most amazing view of the valley at sunset. Value for money hands down this is the spot to be if you’re hiking a few days in Paul. They have a bar upstairs with food and drinks, super fun and friendly staff. Food is really good, vegetarian but hearty.

Fernanda & Emmanuella and their staff were really kind warm and welcoming. They have a beautiful swimming pool with sunbeds around it to relax and enjoy the magnificent vibrant coloured flowers, shrubs and trees in the grounds. Extra towels were offered for us to lie outside on. Breakfast was outside in a covered area where little birds flew on and out. Lots of options with juice, fresh fruit, cold meat, cheese with bread rolls and cooked omelettes and various sweet and savoury treats.
I expected not to be happy about sharing a bathroom but it was like we had our own bathroom as close as in a hotel and we never saw the people who we apparently shared it with. So don't be put off by the shared bathroom.
We had about a 7 minute walk to have dinner out in local restaurant, Bellcantoo in Ribiera Grande.
We were allowed to swim in the pool and sit around until well past checkout time as we had a taxi booked for 2pm.

Loved the lodge, I arrived here after doing the popular coastal hike, it was the perfect place to relax and spend the night in. My room was lovely, food was great, very fresh and different from what you get on the island (owners are French). Just a note, the couple running the place are selling it, let's hope whoever gets it will keep running as well as they are.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The hotel is run by two wonderful hosts who will give you plenty of useful advice for the hikes. They are extremely kind, friendly, and hospitable, representing the character of Cabo Verde. The breakfast is wonderful, with a large amount and nice variety, full of proteins to start the day for your hikes. The room and bathroom are extremely clean, and a fridge is included inside. It is the perfect stay to use as a base for hiking, and has a great location.

Great location in this cute town - next to some nice places to eat and with views of the mountains and coast. Also in a good location to do the hike to Fontanillas.

Our best stay in Santo Antão. Very comfortable beds, amazing rooftop with a nice chill area and well located in a quiet neighbourhood but close to very nice restaurants. The host Guillaume was very helpful giving us many useful information about hiking options including well prepared handouts. The rest of the Casa d'Mar team was also super friendly. We felt at home. Not to forget: they serve an amazing breakfast with the best banana bread ever!
