The host family is super friendly and knowledgable of offerings/excursions available and wildlife in the local area. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back. The property was quiet, clean and the patio made for a great place to enjoy a coffee in the early mornings as the wildlife was also awakening each day. We loved the remote, quaint cabin with an amazing view, nestled into a lush garden filled with the sights and sounds of tropical nature. The hosts were very accommodating and made a hearty breakfast for us every morning. The location was convenient enough to explore Monteverde on our day trips, but offered calm and peacefulness with a beautiful patio. The house was just large enough to comfortably fit my young family of five, with the added bonus of a washer for laundry.

Sofia and her mom Maria are helpful and kind. The apt is simply furnished and clean. The location is very close to center of town. We came as a family of five with my husband and I and our three teenage kids and rented two rooms. Fortunately no one rented the third room so we did not have to share the bathroom with anyone else and had the apt, bathroom and common area to ourselves which was very nice.

Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
We really enjoyed the lovely peaceful bush setting at San Rafael Ecolodge which provided for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The facilities were spotless and the service was great. Many thanks to both our hosts
The owner and staff were very attentive and really seem passionate about their hotel as well as their country. They have built an amazing, beautiful and quiet oasis amongt the adjacent jungle.
Our villa, with two bedrooms was spacious and clean with a balcony looking straight into the jungle.
The food we had was very good and the staff are always very happy to help with any request. This was exactly the type of ecolodge we wanted to stay in when we visited Costa Rica.
Gianni and his team of staff are so friendly. Amazing helpful and nothing was too much trouble, even providing us a packed lunch for one of our tours. Breakfast and evening were delicious. A mini oasis of quiet & calm.

Giovanni was a superb host, his breakfasts were amazing next to the pool, his warm welcome was appreciated. He helped book many activities (canopy, thermal hot springs, mistico hanging bridges, cacao farm tour). could not recommend more! stay here and support this small business!

Lovely ecolodge, located close to nature and proximity of La Fortuna and Arenal. Giovanni and Louis are not just excellent hosts, they make it feel like you're family. Authentic, nice and interested, very eager to help with all your plans and just all around great to talk with them.
The property itself is beautiful, with many birds in the garden. The food is very nice as well. Overall not just impressive, but an amazing experience. One of the highlights of my holiday.
The best part of my stay was the hospitality and friendliness of both Giovanni and Luis who were warm and welcoming to all their guests. The meals were fine and important to me since I did not have a car and there were few options locally within walking distance.My hosts really tried hard to make their lodge a success and I believe they succeeded.I would most definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

Giovanni and Louis are great! They are very welcoming and make you feel at home. Beautiful gardens surround your cabin - we saw green tree frogs, wild turkey and toucans..
Couldn't have asked for friendlier hosts :) Giovanni provides you with his homegrown coffee for breakfast which we ended up buying two bags to bring home.

Easy access to La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano. The drive to the Eternal Forest of the Children was challenging but so worth it!
