Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great location and the staff were amazing - able to help us book the el cocuy trip within a short period of time. Only downside was no hot water in the shower.
The staff were absolutely wonderful. Marta helped planned numerous trips for us during our stay in El Cocuy. Always there with help and information. The breakfast was lovely. The Hostal is a lovely building and the room was great.
Great family-run hostal. Comfortable rooms and welcoming outdoor area, which made it easy to get to know other guests. And Martha was a wonderful hiking guide.
Very cute hostel in El Cocuy and the best place to organize your hiking in PNN Cocuy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was traveling solo but I didn’t have problems to find people to go hiking together. Breakfast was good and early in the morning before the hikes. My room was nice with a patio view. There is also filtered water, which is a plus. The terrace and chill area is really nice.
Carla is absolutely amazing and helped me organize my hikes before I even got there. The hosts are very caring and helpful, the place is amazing to meet other hikers. My room was perfect for a good rest after a long day with the best hot shower I could imagine.
Very friendly and caring host, she was always available in case we needed something. Also, she helped us to organize a tour into the national park (guide, insurance, registration, ...). From our room as well as the terrace (kitchen) we had a nice view over the village and the mountains. We had a great time at GLL Hostel and even extended our stay :)
A beautiful little hostal with everything you will want. The breakfast is great and the staff is amazing. They really do make you feel at home and will talk to you by name. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of blankets as it can be very cold. Its a small quiet town and you will enjoy your stay. This is an excellent value for the area.
Marta and her husband are great hosts! They are going to help you organize all your treks and Marta is also guide unfortunately she already had another groupe but the guide she organized was great as well. The breakfast is really good. Rooms are cleaned every day. The hot shower after a trek is perfect.
Everything was great, we can only recommend.
