Before we arrived our host Wang, who speaks very good English, made sure, we had the right direction and made it very easy for us to come to the centre where she picked us up and insisted on helping with the luggage. The homestay is tucked away on the slopes of the city, but it is just a short climb and we (in our 70s) didn’t have any problems with it. As a reward the view from the room window is stunning. The rooms themselves are very clean and airy and little garden areas create a great atmosphere.
The homestay is in easy walking distance to the main attractions of the city and again Wang made sure, we would find our way and also find good local restaurants.
We loved to talk to her and thoroughly enjoyed or stay and regret that we had not booked a longer stay.
Hemu House is located in Fenghuang, a 10-minute car ride from Fenghuang Coach Station. Free WiFi access is available.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, making it easy to go everywhere. There are nice restaurants for both Chinese and western food nearby, which is very convenient. The staff is super sincere and very, very nice. The hotel is very clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The location is perfect, very close to the old town. The staff was very nice and kind, they recieved me with jelly candy, which was delicious and a very warm gesture. They provided me with a map, also.

The hotel host gave a couple of great non-touristy recommendations for restaurants and shopping

Hemu House is very close to the center of Fenghuang and you can easily avoid the crowd. Veronica is a special host and she is always ready to satisfy every requires. We'd like to thank Veronica for her kindness. She speaks a perfect english and she will be able to help you to find a non turistic restaurant in Fenghuang (and its pretty hard!). 10/10 deserved!
The location was easy to find and convenient for check-in. The host was warm and welcoming. The breakfast featured local flavors and was quite authentic. The room was clean and tidy, and the service was satisfactory.
The room was very confortable and clean. The location is perfect, very central and yet in a small quiet street from the evening agitation of the old town.
I had the best welcoming ever, the host was so attentive and generous with me, I can’t thank him enough for making my solo travel very safe and pleasant.

Exceptionally great support from the owner who provided me with detailed information on arrival. After I got out of the taxi, he was waiting for me at the Nanhua gate with an umbrella and helped me carry my luggage to a nearby accommodation. Friendly atmosphere of family accommodation, but with hotel comforts. The owner arranged a ticket for a boat ride, recommended where to go for good and cheap food, where the locals go. Great views, close to the center, but in a quiet area. I highly recommend it.
While the inn is located within the ancient city, it is away from the main area. Hence, it isn't noisy at night and provided a quiet and chill ambience.
Facilities were well maintained.

Nice and cosy hostel tucked at a quiet corner from the bustling streets in the ancient city. Not difficult to navigate your way from the bus drop off point to the hostel. Alternatively, can arrange for hostel operator to meet up and show the way if preferred.
