Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great location just a short distance from two metro stops (the fundamental metro 1, 2, 5). Large and quiet room. The restaurant on the ground floor offers a good buffet in the evening with many choices (with drinks included). Free water in the room refilled every day. Friendly staff and no communication problems (at least for basic interactions). Fairly good buffet breakfast, with various choices (some even Western).
Angela's customer service is superb. The room had everything we needed including washing machine which was very essential for our 15-day stay. I used it everyday, literally 😃 the location is perfect, especially because we had easy access to cheap fresh fruits and the wet market. We biked going there through Alipay. The watermelon is much cheaper here than in my tropical home country. Jenny Lou's grocery and the Pizza Saporita were also a convenient go-to for us cuz they were nearer
The guest house is a 5 minute drive from the Great Wall and they will drive you there for free. The food here is brilliant - we had two dinners and breakfast here - authentic, home made Chinese food.
We checked out in the morning as usual, but had a flight in the early hours of the following morning. The owners helped us get to the Wall, kept our bags, allowed us to shower and change when we returned and also booked us a taxi. Excellent service from a lovely family run guesthouse.
Great location, close walk to subway, shops, malls & restaurants. Good size apartment, very comfortable & quiet. Good choice for breakfast. Staff helpful, not much English but that wasn't a big issue.
Very hospitable hostess, speaks good English. The hostess helped us book all the tickets for the attractions through a local Chinese website. Upon check-in, they gave us a whole package of bottles of water. Quiet neighbors, a house with a secured territory, and a small grocery store. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the metro, but the metro station is conveniently located, from there there is a direct express train to the airport and buses with a tour to the Great Wall of China
Good location with a great host. Mark was so friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Able to purchase drinks there which was helpful. Breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean. It was quiet even though the rooms look onto the courtyard.
Kelly’s courtyard is an awesome property if you are after a more traditional, affordable, boutique stay among the Beijing Hutongs
The location is very quiet yet central, only a few stops away from the main attractions like Forbidden City. The host is super approachable and helpful with any needs we had such as ordering a taxi to the airport and there is laundry and drinks on site too for a small additional charge.
