Talca is a "real" Chilean town with not a lot of tourist, which we enjoyed! Hostel Casa Azul was a little off the main plaza and we were given a large room and access to the kitchen ( no other guests were there). Close to Diagonal Street with restaurants and even a trendy cerveceria.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great location, right next to the commercial area of Talca and very close to the train station. The hotel was pretty, the beds comfortable and the bathroom surprisingly big. The hotel offered free coffee and tea for free in the afternoons, which was a very pleasing surprise and made every afternoon better when coming back to the hotel.

The house and the garden are really beautiful. Nice kitchen with everything you need for cooking (thumbs up also for recycling). There is a lot of space and plants and quietness.
Connection is good with collectivo No 11 to the rio and then like 10min walk.

With a little TLC (read: a big clean) this could be a real gem. Room wasn't big, but good enough. The best thing is the garden with the pool (which was closed...) which felt like an oasis in the city and is a nice place to hang out on a warm day.
There's no lock on the door of the room but it is a small hotel with just a few rooms and the host seems always around and there are cameras. The main door was always locked. So felt perfectly safe.
The apartment is very clean with everything you need. It's in a great location, well connected but quiet at night. Great communication with the host and easy to park/enter. Very comfortable beds. My kids loved the pool. Would definitely return!
