The property is located a mile or so outside of the small town of Adelboden. While this is quiet and characterful it is not ideal for walking along the minor road into town though due to it’s narrowness making encounters with cars, tractors, etc quite interesting but there is a regular free bus that stops at the end of the driveway of the property.

I was travelling with my family and we arrived late to the Pension. They made it easy to find, however, with lots of directions and communication. We were greeted with warmness, and showed to our well appointed, immaculate rooms, where we all slept very well., My mom says: “Exceptional service and ultra clean, with really high quality bedding.” My dad says “I would recommend to a friend, and I would go back there”.

Pension Sonne was just as we expected from the description online. We wanted to stay somewhere with character, and got exactly that. The bedroom was comfortable with good storage space (even for hiking boots) and everywhere was really clean. We were made to feel very welcome, and the breakfast was amazing - including wide range of different teas, jams and delicious fresh breads. Although the property isn’t in the main part of Adelboden, it is only a 15-20 minute walk away and there is a bus service too. The walk into Adelboden is very pretty, and we enjoyed the tranquility of being situated just outside the town.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.

Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and bread options in addition to varieties of cheeses etc. The recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner was spot on (Zum Schlössli). The view is spectacular and it was so quiet, we slept real well.
Location is very good. Closely to Interlaken, Grindelwald, Glacier 3000, Saanen and Gusted by car. Holiday Home and host are good. Coop and Migras supermarkets are in 1 min walk away.
