The staff were super friendly, especially Eva, Rodrigo, and Arthur and his cat, Murzi. Big room for three and they gave us a room for with a balcony and view even though it usually came with an extra fee.

The best part? The pizza! The reviews were right. This hotel serves the best pizza in Switzerland. I ordered the 007 pizza with extra spicy chili, and it did not disappoint and actually exceeded expectations.
Sure, it's a bit pricey overall, but you're in the best place to view the alps in Switzerland! Everywhere is pricey, and this hotel gave the best bang for buck, with a really cozy atmosphere during really cold nights.

Lauterbrunnen was very bustling with tourists but out by Stechelberg where the Alpenhof mountain house is situated there is just mountains, and quiet, only sound the nearby waterfall .. simply idyllic. Great hotel, great host and great scenery. This is our second times staying this hotel, first time is early summer, scenery beautiful and greenery. Close to the Cable Car. Quiet. Authentic. The soup and the rösti are delicious but I was sick the day after. I don't know if it's related. We arrived very late in the evening. The host wasn't happy and it's our fault. But...
The Alpenhof comes highly recommended by guide book authors, the late Kev Reynolds (Cicerone/UK) and Rick Steves (USA) and hosts Diane and Marc look after you in the most warm and friendly way. Other guests spoke of returning year after year for extended stays which is a testament to both of them and also their charming, traditional Swiss B&B with its additional self catering kitchen. The location is so peaceful, with hikes from the door, but still within easy reach of all the amenities of Murren and Lauterbrunnen.
