Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The breakfast was superb as were the hostesses Denise and Becky. These 2 women made our stay most enjoyable! They couldn't do enough for us.
Loved our stay at Spruceholme Inn as well as the local history.
This was my second time staying at Spruceholme, and it wasn't disappointing. This pet friendly Inn is located just outside the downtown core and is within walking distance of the trails that are offered by this community. The rooms at the Inn are filled with nostalgia, and the cabins are spacious and give you that out in the woods felling. Above all, this is the host Denise, who was not only friendly but knowledgeable of the area. I can go on, but my best advice is to stay at this Inn next time you visit Fort Coulonge.
The staff were very welcoming and informative. They found accommodation for our bicycles in a shed near the annex.
I was slightly disappointed with the breakfast menu in that I would have enjoyed more choices around healthier breakfast food such as more fresh fruit, yogurt, perhaps some granola cereal. The scrambled eggs and the French toast were very well done but too heavy a Breakfast for someone planning to cycle for the day.
The room was quite comfortable -- very comfy bed; good sized shower with water good pressure and lots of hot water.
We rented a room in a cabin and it was very quiet at the back of the property.
When we called to inquire about breakfast hours, the owner offered us access to the beach at her property. We had a nice evening walk, and watched the sunset. We had the beach to ourselves!
The breakfast was lovely. Eggs and a side of bacon or ham, a croissant and fresh fruit.
Lots of coffee. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
