Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Large house and garden all to ourselves. Great kitchen and 2 bathroom facilities - Loved the huge tub. Good location in close proximity to Devonport, Ulverstone Penguin. Tastefully restored and decorated. Good explanations of all appliances and some good tips from our host of what to see and do. Communication with Louise was excellent. Very clean and tidy.
Hosts were lovely, the property is just beautiful. The little cabin is perfect - with some really gorgeous, quirky features.
Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Great value for money.
Woodsong is in an Exceptional location, nestled in the woods and surrounded by nature.. It is charming cottage with unusual and creative finishes such as handrails carved from tree branches. Once you arrive you feel like staying for a week.
Sally, our host, was very welcoming, friendly, informative and generous. The food provided for breakfast was excellent quality, varied and plentiful. It was augmented with fresh fruit and vegetables from our host's garden, and tasty home made condiments. The cottage was spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished, and the all-important bed was very comfortable, with both blankets (hooray!) and doona available. The outside furniture, and river-side deck, bath and hammocks, were a lovely touch of decadence.
Excellent, from the choices of cereals, toppings for toast, the quietness, the farm tour, feeding Lambs, gathering veges to take away with us, we couldn't fault it. This is just the place to base yourself to tour around the area, it's beautifully clean and our hosts Sarah and Anthony couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely be coming again
