this place is very special. Calm and quiet and relaxing. In winter we had the wood fire going and it was just awesome. Hosts were super nice and had a little breakfast supplies set up when we arrived.

The historic village of Wollombi was very scenic, we didn't have time to explore it as we were there for our daughter's wedding at a nearby retreat. We were warmly greeted by our host Jane, who took us on a tour of the main house which was a magnificent example of an early colonial mansion, very historic in origin. The Capers Guesthouse had a choice of three separate buildings for a stay, we had the Barn which was a real highlight as it was literally a slab barn with beautiful interior, so rustic but comfortable. The furniture inside was a collection of antiques which reflected the heritage atmosphere of the Barn and town. All modern facilities for cooking, the supplied breakfast had a choice of cereals or full cooked breakfast. The ingredients supplied were the best quality, tomatoes, huge mushrooms, eggs and the best sausages and bacon I've tasted in a long time. The bed was a huge king size, very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and supplied by fresh rainwater from tanks. We want to try the other buildings for a stay in the future and have the pleasure of a historic building stay.

We are a group of 4 (two couples)and we absolutely loved staying at Hill Top Country Guesthouse. The location in the middle of Hunter Valley is amazing and there are so many activities to do around. The views are great. The guest house had an old fashioned style, but was very clean.
Margaret is a kind hard-working woman who has been very hospitable to us. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved having our little fire pit and a quiet area. We were originally confused as to which tiny home it was as they were two. the one advertised in the picture here wasn’t prepared when we arrived so we went to the other one which was cleaned. We had a Perfect hot shower and a lovely heater that kept us warm all night. We are a tidy couple so we try to keep things neat whenever we stay out. Would book again.
Waking to beautiful birdsong in the morning was lovely. Very quiet location helps to sleep well. Generally a well equipped, cute space. Curling up in the swinging chair in the morning sun was bliss. A nice surprise to find a flushing toilet (not a compost toilet as per the listing). Kate was a friendly, efficient and helpful host.
it was quaint, quiet, cosy & clean! beds were so comfortable. Kitchen is stocked with thoughtful treats and necessities.
