I was super happy with the convenience and simplicity of the pods and the well cared for site. Perfectly clean, the same for the toilet blocks. A nice 1:30 min cycle route for the road bike was great as well.

Shepherds Hut at The Retreat, hotel in Welshpool

Featuring mountain views, Shepherds Hut at The Retreat provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 18 km from Lake Vyrnwy.

Absolutely everything! The location is perfect, there's nothing more relaxing than sitting in that hot tub and listening to the sheep call out to each other over the Valley. The location is a great base to go off and explore Wales, and the scenery is breathtaking. Beth is a great host, and recommended a great pub nearby for a Sunday carvery, she even called them and booked us a table. This was one of the best roasts I'd ever had. We can't wait to come back and explore more of this beautiful part of the world.

Off Grid Shepherds Hut, hotel in Welshpool

Off Grid Shepherds Hut, a property with a garden, is located in Llansilin, 28 km from Erddig, 32 km from St Mary's Cathedral, Wrexham, as well as 33 km from Lake Vyrnwy.

The location is stunning - quiet, with gorgeous views and not a soul in sight, but easy enough to reach. David was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We booked in as an emergency measure as we were camping when Storm Lilian hit and our tent blew down, but we would definitely stay again. The hut is cosy, well-equipped, clean and very bright. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

A delightful little cabin beautifully fitted out by Michele and Tim. We were very comfortable and found it an excellent location for what we wanted to do especially Powys castle which is just round the corner. We arranged for a continental breakfast on each of the mornings of our stay which were delicious. Just go and chill and enjoy the lovely countryside and in May watch the young lambs jumping and playing in the adjoining fields. We loved it and if in the area will certainly be back.

Mandy (I think) was a delight to meet and greet us. Had a few chats before we left, very friendly and funny and gave us some great tips and advice. Decor and bedroom facilities were great with plenty of space and storage. Comfy bed.
