Sauland
Situated in Sauland in the Telemark region, Tjonnas Farm Stay has a patio. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. We recently stayed at the Tjonnas Farm guest house with another family during our Norwegian vacation. The farm is in a remote, yet beautiful location, not far from the Heddal Stavekirke. The family has gone to exceptional lengths to build and furnish a comfortable, modern guest house while capturing traditional Norwegian design details, right down to the intricate rosemaling on the cabinetry and beds. Torild was a gracious hostess and was very welcoming to the kids and shared many details about the farm and its history. We enjoyed the farm's fresh lamb sausages, bread, and apple cider. The kids agreed that the lamb sausages were their favorite meal in Norway and that the farm was a favorite venue. We would be happy to visit again in the future and recommend the location to others.
Kodal
The spacious farm stay includes a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a fridge, as well as a coffee machine. Guests can take in the views of the mountain from the balcony, which also has outdoor furniture. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance.
Hauggrend
The farm stay is equipped with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a patio with mountain views. Guests can take in the ambience of the surroundings from an outdoor dining area or keep themselves warm by the fireplace on colder days. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. The location it's amazing
It is a fantastic location; the cabin is huge and has everything you need to stay with your family. Just around the cabin, there are plenty of activities you can do with your children (hikes, farm animals, playgrounds, lake, etc)
The wooden cabin (tent) was beautiful and comfy with a large bed. The cabin was on a lovely farm with animals and the host was wonderful.
Excellent location combined with extremely welcoming owners provide a unique vibe of calm and positive energy. It is not just a farm stay, it is like staying in your own mountain hut, next to a small farm that is owned by your very close friends.
If you would like to experience norway style, quiet in nature, with very kind host and very positive energy...that is what we got it. Very nice details, next to forest in former farm.
We loved this farm near Bø Summerland. The children were thrilled of the farm’s animals and play facilities. We slept in the old «stabbur» cottage which is a piece of Norwegian culture. The kitchen and toilet/shower was in the barn appx 50 mtrs away, and that was really ok for us. We will definately be going back!
There was a wide choice of breakfast offerings. The area around the hotel was truly rural Norwegian. While the longest day of the year was only two weeks away there was still some snow on the grounds in less sunlit areas. The hotel is a peculiar mix of old-style (early last century) rural styles and modern 21st century appliances.
