Terra Rouge Guestfarm & Sonstraal Farmhouse in Koës provides adults-only accommodation with a terrace and barbecue facilities. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio. Very private and secluded campsite. We were the only guests on the campsite which is ion the Auob riverbed, under ancient Camel Thorn trees. There’s water and the best working donkey boiler I’ve experienced so far for a hot shower. Hanli and Carla are wonderful and nice people and we enjoyed our stay there a lot. The place has a lot of animals, too. We saw giraffes, gemsbok, steenbok, white-backed vultures on the nest, bat-eared foxes and rosy-faced lovebirds.

Featuring mountain views, Vastrap Guest Farm features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a bar, around 48 km from Karasburg Railway Station. Well equipped room with fridge and some self catering material. We ate dinner and breakfast at the main house and the dining room, the food and the service were exceptional. The weather was too cold to sit outside but the stoep offered a peaceful view across the plain.

Peaceful location on a working farm. Beautiful decor, spacious and a (much needed in December) efficient aircon. Milkshake made in farmstall a must have.
