Exceptional stay at this beautiful new property! Everything is so clean and has been made to a very high specification. The rooms are a nice size with great facilities for showers and toilet. The communal area/cafe is very nice too and the property is set within beautiful grounds overlooking the city of Iida. We really enjoyed these views and making the most of the countryside, and experiencing apple farming and trying the delicious produce of the Cider Barn. Our hosts Yukiko and Ken were wonderful, very helpful and friendly and gave us good advice. They also prepared some lovely meals for us and we sampled their delicious cider and apple juice. Overall we had an excellent stay here and we recommend it highly to anyone who would like to experience a beautiful scenic part of Japan!

This was our first stop on a month-long trip around Japan, and I cannot put into words just how incredible the whole experience was. A beautiful private home, with a friendly host, in a lovely rural atmosphere. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay, from the traditional decor, to everything we learned about the region. What an amazing way to start our Japan visit - we are sure no other places will measure up.
A real farm house, very quiet place. Had everything we needed. The owners were very kind and helpful.
We had the most wonderful stay with Rie and her family! Her and her partner had done an amazing job renovating an old farmhouse. We stayed two nights, but I wish we could've stayed longer! On both nights we had the dinner they offer, which was super delicious, would highly recommend doing that - and their homemade plum wine is a must too!
Amazing hospitality, beautiful farmhouse and general great relaxed atmosphere
The location was prefect for going to see the snow monkey park and the Enza Cafe and The Farmhouse bar was really great places to eat
Unique and interesting farmhouse.
The old farmhouse was beautifully designed with such a serene ambience and beautiful views. The people that worked at the hostel were charming and kind. We loved the breakfast and curry too.
It’s a 200 year old farmhouse, beautifully renovated to keep the charm of the original building.
A stunning place to stay tucked away in the hillside. The staff were so wonderful. We turned up soaked through after a rainy day on the Nakasendo trail and they met us at the door with towels and slippers and took our shoes and clothes to dry them. Sitting by the wood burner in the armchair of this 200 year old restored farmhouse was so relaxing. The home cooked food was delicious and we had great fun tasting some local sakes. This was definitely our favourite place we stayed in Japan.
Nagano Farmstay is an amazing, comfortable, and cozy place to stay. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace and well-equipped kitchen. The hosts, Mark and Mayuko were both very helpful and replied quickly to all of our messages. I would definitely like to stay here again!
