This was our first stop on a month-long trip around Japan, and I cannot put into words just how incredible the whole experience was. A beautiful private home, with a friendly host, in a lovely rural atmosphere. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay, from the traditional decor, to everything we learned about the region. What an amazing way to start our Japan visit - we are sure no other places will measure up.
A real farm house, very quiet place. Had everything we needed. The owners were very kind and helpful.
We had the most wonderful stay with Rie and her family! Her and her partner had done an amazing job renovating an old farmhouse. We stayed two nights, but I wish we could've stayed longer! On both nights we had the dinner they offer, which was super delicious, would highly recommend doing that - and their homemade plum wine is a must too!
Amazing hospitality, beautiful farmhouse and general great relaxed atmosphere
Wonderful accommodation - very cosy and unique and great value for money. Great facilities and loved staying in a traditional Japanese farmhouse.
The location and the place itself are stunning. The owners, Hiro and Rei, did a great job at transforming an abandoned 19th century farmhouse into a comfortable, rustic-styled, quirky mountain Inn. The staff are also warm & helpful. Sawara the cat is very cute, can get grumpy and quite vocal (hilarious for us as she reminded us of our own tabby cat). The free shuttle to and from the station is much appreciated too. We also liked the sake tasting at the communal bar!
The Japanese-style breakfast was exceptional, they made us a special vegan breakfast and it was one of the best meals we had in Japan. Dinner reservations were full so we went to The Farmhouse, a restaurant within about a two minute walk from the hotel. The public onsen was beautiful and very relaxing, and the private hinoki onsen was amazing as well. Overall this hotel is a must for anyone visiting this area or going to see the snow monkeys!
The hostel is in a lovely valley with stunning views. It is an old farmhouse and they grow their own vegetables and rice. The common areas are very comfortable with space to read and relax.
This is a very stylish place with attention to detail and superb hospitality. This 200 year old Japanese farmhouse had been beautifully renovated and incorporates some lovely mid century modern furniture. Fabulous views over the valley and mountains. The owners and staff are wonderful. The food was excellent - we had curry chicken for dinner which was delicious; and the breakfast was great … homemade yoghurt, eggs from chickens on the property and fresh fruit. Great value for money. Highly recommend.
