If you're looking to get outside the big cities and see a part of Japan that most tourists probably don't see, this would be a great stop for you. If you plan it in advance, you can add a tea ceremony and picking the nearby vegetables. We didn't have time, but I would have loved to help with the rice cultivation.

My family had an exceptional time with Yuki, Eriko, Saku & Aito. Yuki is an amazing tour guide and host. Can't wait to visit again.
