Featuring garden views, Capledrae Farmstay Shepherds Huts features accommodation with balcony, around 33 km from Hopetoun House. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. My first visit to Scotland was unforgettable, thanks to our stay in these amazing huts. Maggie, our host, was fantastic, making us feel right at home. The beautiful setting, warm hospitality, the friendly horses and our alpaca adventure made our trip truly special. It was also lovely being able to have a BBQ in the cute little hut. An added bonus to the stay was Maggie's niece, Courtney, who taught us about the alpacas and even let us walk them—a unique and fun experience that my boyfriend, 12-year-old daughter, and I all loved. Highly recommended.
The location was excellent as was the staff. There is a shuttle that takes you to local golf courses and a 20 minute taxi to Kings Barnes Golf course.
Modern interior. Good appliances. Comfy bed. Good parking. Quiet, rural but could walk safely to nearby village within 15 minutes. Good walking areas for dog. Good shower/pressure and bath.
Fiona & Allan were outstanding hosts. The property is a great alternative to staying in St. Andrews; an easy short 10–15-minute drive. Also, there are two great small distilleries close by. The property was very clean, comfortable, and in a very quiet setting. They provided guidance to a great local pub and called ahead to book table for us for dinner. The breakfast in the morning was from their own farm fresh eggs and was amazing. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful location. Incredible long views. Away from the hustle/bustle of St. Andrews town, but so close. Easy to get taxis. Beautiful farm house, great beds, linens, plenty of bathrooms. Fully equipped modern kitchen. Family Room was comfy.
It’s literally a farm house on a farm with spectacular views of rolling hills and cultivated land on one side, and the North Sea on the other. It’s just a short drive to the old town of St Andrews. Our hosts went above and beyond in so many ways. The room and bathroom were very comfortable and well appointed—they’d thought of everything. Breakfast was delicious. They were also knowledgeable and helpful in filling in the outlines for some of our travel plans. We’d love to stay here again if we’re ever back in Scotland!
