Amazing position and a lovely old farm house perfectly placed for exploring the Northern fells. The lady was friendly and considerate, I would definitely book again.
We stayed in one of the new outside cabins with hot tub. This is the 5th stay over the years and not much has changed other than some new accommodation blocks. The new cabins are lovely, over looking farm fields and we saw lots of wildlife including a barn owl. The food is excellent and well priced. Really good choice and seasonal ingredients. Don't expect a plush 4* hotel. Damson Dene is not so refined but an excellent base in the Lake District far enough away from the hustle and bustle.
An amazing stay at a true rural idyll of a location in a fabulous traditional farmhouse. Stunning views from the bedroom, super-comfy bed, lovely room & breakfast & a fab host. And we even got the bonus of playing with the merry band of lambs & baby goats who skipped around the farmyard in the morning!
Amazing period property done up with all the mod cons. Everything you could need was there, even a pub serving great food just over the road. The farm house was immaculate, the beds comfy and a lovely welcome tray in the kitchen. We loved all the quirky details in this 17th century farmhouse, only a ten minute walk along the river to the centre of town. Barbara couldn’t have done enough to help with any questions I had.
My room was lovely and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was superb, with a good choice of cereals, fruit, cooked and toast etc. Jean was very welcoming and left little thoughtful biscuits and cakes for treats. I would recommend it highly for a homely stay in a comfortable farmhouse style.
The perfect mix of modern and rustic. We had a very comfortable stay here with great wifi, tvs and kitchen appliances set in a lovely farmhouse building. When the sun is out, the garden seating and the ping pong table made for a fantastic base to go out on country walks.
