Lovely pension with stylish decor (a great blend of modern and cozy rustic). Rooms are spacious & staff very accommodating. Communal kitchen is well stocked with all the appliances and conveniences you need. Excellent choice.

The flat was located in a quiet courtyard of an old barn. It still has that barn character although inside is quite modern. Parking direct in front of the entrance.
This place is amazing! It feels like we stepped back in time about 400 years, but with all the modern amenities (like flushing toilets and hot water). The staff is amazing. They all wear Period costumes. The restaurant is definitely the high point. The food is served as it was centuries ago. No soup spoons (but there are forks and knives). The glasses for beer or wine have no base, but simply fit into the holes in the table. Even the food is served in a spectacular fashion. Breakfast was amazing - even had a rustic honey comb. So authentic!
After a long drive staying at this pension in rural Germany is well worth the short detour from the motorway. The location is quiet and exactly what is required for a good night's sleep. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast next morning ( 10 euro per person) excellent. It set us up for another long day on the road. We were there in November and not in tourist mode but I expect at other times of year this would be a good base to explore the region.

Breakfast not included, but you could bring & prepare your own food. Charming village bauernhof (farmhouse with outbuildings all together on an enclosed courtyard), in a small outlying village.
Good location, quiet rural setting with a nice view and garden, yet close to towns and venues, for example, Meiningen where we took in an opera (in a town of 25 000 people!).
