For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
I stayed over for one night on my way to the coast riding a motorcycle end of September. I loved the quiet surrounds and views of the place. The reception was warm and friendly. I also enjoyed the personal touch and informal atmosphere. The owner is exceptional and connects very well with guests. The place has a real old-style guest farm atmosphere and is far enough from the N3 so you do not hear the trucks. The perfect place for reps and small breakaway retreats! To take full advantage of the place stay at least two nights!
Had a wonderful, restful 3 night stay at Wyford farm in their Poplar Chalet. A lovely rustic cottage where we had our own privacy and it was lovely. Perfect place to go if you just want to chill with your loved ones. Plenty of wood can be bought for your braai or indoor log fire. Our host Cecile was such a nice lady and very accommodating. We bought some homemade chilli sauce and curried beans. Both were very good. We really enjoyed our stay.
The setting is beautiful and very rural. It is a working farm so guests must expect cows, horses, geese and goats. The cottage is very solidly built in stone and the beds were very comfortable. The linen seems new. We are travelling with our dog and the dog was totally safe in our private enclosed area. This is a good place to stay if you want to give your children experience with farm life. It is reasonably priced and the owners leave fresh milk in the fridge.
This guest farm is located on a beautiful spot. The new owner, Thea, was very friendly and welcoming and the meals were delicious.
We might come back after the renovation work has been done.
Did not order breakfast. The location was excellent and the view spectacular. The view over the mountains were so beautiful and the old farmhouse look and feel made it very special. It was great to spend time with the family at this venue.
I can recommend the dinner as well as the breakfast to anyone who wish to stay at Oban Guest Farm. The staff and owners were friendly and hospitable. The guest house is away from the busy road which makes it a perfect place if you want to have a bit of "me-time".
This is such a nice cozy, rustic place to stay! The views are amazing. Staff were very friendly and welcoming! Everything was clean and neat. There was a welcome note and some fresh farm herbs and eggs as a welcome treat. It just makes the stay more personal and I appreciate that!
We made use of the fireplace, it gets really cold at night, and that gave off a great cozy feeling.
The surroundings were absolutely beautiful! Took a lovely walk and enjoyed all the farm animals! Very rustic
