Melkboom Guest Farm is situated on a tranquil farm just off the N2 highway and 15 km from the town of Heidelberg in the Western Cape Region. Some units feature a seating area where you can relax.
For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
We had a lovely one night stay at Oudebosch Guest Farm - the best part being the incredible staff who were very welcoming and really went the extra mile in terms of communication and providing a horse interaction for our kids.
The cottage was well kitted out and had everything we needed for the night. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms and house clean. The location was stunning, although it was a lot further out of town than we realised/anticipated.
Magnificent farm setting with great views across the valley. Warmly welcomed by the hosts and immediately made to feel at home. Truly rustic, but comfortable accommodation with all the necessary basics provided. Quiet and peaceful stay with adequate fenced space to allow our dog to roam freely without coming into contact with the farm animals.
Relaxing stay in a beautifully decorated, grand farmhouse. We loved the Kolkol hot tub, formal gardens, evening braai and mountain views. We were lucky enough to experience lighting and rain storms from the couch on the front stoep. Anita's generosity and warmth added the deluxe touch.
Our Labrador had fun too.
We absolutely loved staying at Oudebosch Guest farm. The accommodation was so comfortable, the views of the mountains were awe inspiring, lovely pool as well. The cherry on top of the cake however, was the morning horse ride we did with Linda, we are absolute beginners, but Linda and her horses made it seem effortless. Such a lovely ride and wonderful stay.
Our time at Sionsberg was sublime!
The large farm house is exquisite with absolutely everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. We picked fresh vegetables from the garden, explored the expansive farm, enjoyed the patio and fired up hot tub in the evenings.
We couldn’t recommend it enough!
Tip: Pack a cooler box and make a trip to one of the dams for an afternoon outing or find a secret spot on the farm for some sundowners.

We had a great time at Sionsberg Farmstay! The house was bigger than we anticipated and it was perfect for a big group. It had everything we needed! We loved sitting on the porch and watching the beautiful view and also loved the beautiful kitchen! Anita was a wonderful host and made us feel right at home. We can definitely recommend Sionsberg Farmstay.

Fantastic farmhouse dated from the 1700's. Beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail.
Top notch linen and bedding. A stoep that goes on for days, to sit and enjoy the beautifull surrounds. A lot of space, but the kitchen is the bonus. Huge kitchen with aga stove ( not in use ) with enough space to "kuier" around the old table . Beautifull altogether.
Kweekkraal Guest Farm are definitely a hidden gem...i were so amazed by the setting , a living farm ...the tranquility, fresh air...it's cleanliness and the guesthouses it self were of 5 star quality. I will definitely recommend anyone to visit this amazing venue....Alderman Aidan Charles Stowman
