For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
We loved the location. We loved the cottage and the setting was ideal. We enjoyed that the property was a working farm.
The hammocks and Adirondack chairs were a nice touch.
The availability of the fire pits was great.
We were surprised to find a full complementary hot breakfast served every day from 6-10 am, even though the listing incorrectly stated that there was no breakfast. The breakfast room attendant made sure everything was resupplied promptly and kept the area very clean. The setting was very quiet and pastoral, with views on rolling farm fields. It is a 15 minute drive to the Madison's Montpelier estate.
