This is no tourist trap. It’s an authentic working ranch run by an amazing couple & the perfect last stop on our journey to the area, especially after hiking for 4 days in Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon & Hovenweep. Never thought I would put great value for a $250 a night lodging but it was more than worth the value.
Garry and Ming were incredible hosts and we loved our stay in the Cowboy Cabin! We felt off the grid and was nice to enjoy the peaceful “ranch” life while interacting with all the sheep, dogs and cats! We particularly loved there new cat, Hoot, he was such a sweet kitten and anyone who stays there will love him!
Charming, clean and comfortable cabin with wonderful attention to detail. Delicious ranch raised beef and lamb for purchase to cook over the outdoor grill provided. Finally Garry, the owner was an exceptional host. Along with being generally delightful he provided us with excellent tour around sites of the ranch. This was an excellent place to stay.
Bunny and Kevin were the best hosts one could ever ask for! This working ranch was beautiful and VERY QUIET! We enjoyed our conversations with both Kevin and Bunny. I had not been to the Cortez area in over 40 yrs. Cortez is a wonderful small American town! Thanks to both Bunny and Kevin!
I loved the Retro theme of the rooms and the care and maintenance of the property. The owners showed care and the location was great. I’ve already recommended the location to friends. An additional surprise to visiting the town of Corte was the quality of restaurants. The Lounging Lizzard and Farm Bistro are at the top of our list. Great place have fun.
This motel seems to be a working progress by relatively new owners. The room we had was the last one on the day and have been put back into service with some snagging work to complete. We were made aware of this at check in and in fairness the room was in working order and only had minor work to complete. We liked the attempt to do something different with the décor by using rustic fixtures and fittings. There was no breakfast but there are facilities to make a hot drink and a fridge. Car parking is available on site.
Ming and Garry were gracious hosts willing to spend time with us and introduce us to the beauty and animals of the ranch. We had a great time getting to know them and the "incredibles" a bit. The time spent at the ranch was one of the highlights of trip to the four corners region. Great place for families or a couples getaway. We hope to return someday soon.
