For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
A beautifully renovated farmhouse, which used to be a barn. The room was spacious and well-equipped, providing a comfortable and functional stay. Joaquim, our host, was incredibly helpful and eager to ensure we had the best visit possible.
Sympathetically converted stone farmhouse with stunning architecture and beautifully presented. The bedrooms are generous and well equipped and the property is set in a fantastic rural location just a few kilometres from the town of Guarda. The host was also extremely generous and very welcoming and served a delicious breakfast with local produce from the farm. I stayed there whilst passing through the country and enjoyed my stay so much, I stayed again on my return leg.
Very pleasant converted, old granit farmhouse and courtyard. Exceedingly well done and very comfortable, clean and cared for. We were very well looked after by exceptionally pleasant people. The room and bathroom were very large and everything very nicely done. Breakfast contained a wide variety of dishes which were replenished when emptied.
It is also well positioned if you wanted to explore Guarda, a much underrated, very old city.
Terrific!! Don’t miss it. Lovely rural location, artful yet rustic lodging in a restored farmhouse, wonderful breakfast, exceptionally attentive and helpful host/owner. A most unique experience.
Renovated farmhouse with a lot of charm. Mr. Joaquin and his wife make you feel like guests of their home. Extraordinary human warmth. A really special place that is worth visiting.
