For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
It was an old horse farm, homestead, nice property, super nice caretakers/hosts. The Egmont National Park was beautiful this morning, sunrise, no clouds. My cabin #6 had heated mattress pads, perfect for this cold snap.
3 weeks on what I most remember was the lovely lady at reception, it was lovely to talk to her. The cabin was great, really liked the ramp, my husband has a bad back and doesn't like steps so it worked for us. But it was spacious and airy and though there was no aircon but they provided a big fan which was great because it was unexpectedly humid.
Loved the fact that the motel is part of a working farm and you can see the animals.
It was a short drive to town and all amenities.
