For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
We have really enjoyed sitting by the open fire, while the weather outside was getting a bit nasty.
Also we have really appreciated the atmosphere of the farm stay, knowing it’s for real with its family history.
This was a unique New Zealand experience to stay on a sheep farm but in such lovely accommodations. The suite was beautiful in every way and Karen's hospitality in showing us around the farm was wonderful. Recommend to anyone wanting to experience real New Zealand lifestyle
A real garden to table experience. As most of the food was grown on the property, it was fascinating to learn a bit about how this small farm is managed and to wander around the gardens. Beautiful !!
The hosts are really good people. Could not be more welcoming and helpful. Beautiful NZ farm setting looking out over meadows of animals and mountains in the distance
A true highlight of our trip!
Wonderful and beautiful room, the best and kindest hosts, Karen and Bruce. We learned much about the farm, helped feed the animals, had a wonderful breakfast.
Karen and Bruce were superb hosts and made our short stay very enjoyable and instantly relaxing. Karen and the setting exude calmness. My wife and I went for a walk and a swim in the river, we met the farm pets and we just relaxed around the house. The Louisa suite was superb and exactly as in the pictures with s super comfy bed. This is a working farm with an interesting family history dating back to it’s origins. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you for a perfect stay!
My husband and I loved the peaceful garden and having the opportunity to feed the farm pets. We spent almost all of our stay on site and found our room to be a clean and bright oasis. Bruce showed us the farm and answered all of our questions about the sheep.
A rural peaceful location with idyllic views, but good roads to get there.
The owner was such a great host, friendly , did the laundry, friendly and very interesting to meet.
A beautiful 1 hour drive to the beach at Gore Bay
Fantastic home cooked breakfast. Comfortable, clean rooms. Karen and Bruce are wonderful hosts. Great to see how a sheep farm is run.
