For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
Very friendly, warm and welcoming staff. Always aiming to provide the best possible service. Beautiful surroundings, on a farm that is very ecologically friendly and well managed. The owners provide a family like atmosphere and take a lot of time to explain things about farming in Namibia, wildlife and history.
We enjoyed our stay at Tarentaal very much. Our host Pieter Gouws was charming and informative. We could visit Etosha game reserve with little fuss and return to the peace and quiet of the farm late afternoon. Dinner, with Pieter as (talkative) host, was memorable. Since most guests are from Germany, the breakfast is mainly continental.
My husband and I loved our stay at this exceptional guest farm. We were warmly welcomed and looked after from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and comfortable, we slept well. It was a short drive to the park and so nice to come back and relax in the farms beautiful gardens. Dinners were delicious and vegetarian friendly, plenty of variety. We highly recommend a stay here, you will love it. Thanks to Peter and Mariana for such a wonderful stay.
The location is gorgeous! The pool and the gardens are beautiful, everything is clean and the food is delicious. The dogs are very friendly. The chalets have a cool rustic flair.
It was a bit hot inside due the lack of AC but we were offered to switch to the normal rooms with better temperature which was very nice. We decided to stay in the Chalets because the flair was just awesome.
The place was nice, cosy, clean and has a beautiful view from the balcony. The farm had goats, ostriches and chickens.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Both the dinner and breakfast was great. We also had one vegitarian and they always prepared something for him.
We were glad that we spent 2-nights.
I had a great stay at the Farmhouse Boutique. It's the perfect guesthouse to stay before visiting Etosha National Park. The owner is a true joy to meet and I was welcomed with open arms. The new rooms look great I had some great meals at the restaurant. There's a nice bar there too. I'd highly recommend a stay at the Farmhouse Boutique. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff.
Marianna was an excellent host. We had interesting talks with her about many subjects.
We enjoyed the stay at a farmhouse (animals, cosy corners, books) as a pleasant alternative to a (more anonymous) lodge.
