Giovanni was an extraordinary host who went out of his way to help us have a fabulous visit, from hosting an aperitivo in his cellar, to making restaurant reservations for us at fabulous local restaurants, to recommending a wine and balsamic vinegar tasting, to arranging an amazing private tour of a local dairy specializing in artisanal Parmesan Reggiano. We also took a fun hike, played ping pong, and went swimming in the lovely pool. The location is breathtakingly beautiful, and the historic buildings have been masterfully renovated. If you are looking for a non-touristy, authentic Italian countryside experience, this is the place for you. It certainly was for us!

The family that owns the property are top notch. The staff is awesome too. The food is amazing, great location, super friendly, very clean. Our car broke down in the pouring rain and the owner’s son helped me get my car back running. He came and picked us up and helped restart my car in the rain and got soaked with me. Class act. Would highly recommend.

Hosts are a charming young couple. Beautiful location that is worth the drive. The inn was closed for dinner the day we were there but we were given a good option in a nearby village. Property has animals and even hammocks in a pine tree studded hillside. Breakfast was excellent. There's a small kitchen and reading room available. Our hostess even let us do some laundry.

It is a stunning property on a hill in remote farmland. It's designed by people who love what they do. There are just a few great suites available and they are all within the wine barrel and vinegar distillery area. And, the restaurant is unbelievably great. The only problem we had was that is was raining the whole time we were there. Otherwise, we would have swum at the pool and sat on the back deck looking at the picturesque countryside. It's close enough to Modena and several stunning villages to make it a great getaway from the typical tourist spots. And, they had an electric car charger for free.

Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
