The staff at the castle were very nice, and the exterior of the castle looked great ...but that is where it stops for me I am afraid...
I chose this castle with little expectations as I quite like the experience of the old thick walks and odd shaped steps and doors ...and over the many years of my extensive travels has revealed many castles in various states of repair...
The room was terrible, the smell was so overwhelming at times it made us feel ill.
It's freezing, I stay in Castles and old buildings wherever possible and understand the quirky problems people have converting these buildings, keeping them warm and damp proof... but sadly this is by far the worst castle I've ever stayed in. The ramp to get into the castle rooms is dangerous for any one with mobility problems and is completely disabled unfriendly.
The car park drive way had also been washed away ...

The local landscape is beautiful and the Inn is peaceful and really in the middle of Nature. The Staff let us to do check-in almost 3 hours before of the defined time, because it was rainning a lot in the Siena´s region.

Great location in an old farmhouse with lovely walks straight from the front door. Right on the Via Francigena and a few minutes from the beautiful Monteriggioni village. Pleasant garden area for our own use. Spotless inside.
The stunning farm house, sparkling clean infinity pool and the wine tasting! We ate at the winery on two nights and the food was to die for! One of the best meals we had during our time in Tuscany. Great location as a base to explore other areas of Tuscany. The family who own the farm are just wonderful and we met some lovely people who were also staying there. Would highly recommend this property and can't wait to return.
The property is absolutely stunning, vast open fields and old style farmhouse apartments perched at the top to take it all in. The property never felt too busy, there were just the right amount of people around to feel like a little community. The pool is amazing and the perfect place to relax
So relaxing. Beautiful converted farm buildings. House martins swooping through the loggias. You spend your time settled within the vineyard, sounded by flowers, herbs, butterflies and we even saw fire flies at night (after the lovely sunset over the vines). So rural yet only 10k from Siena.
Good, very specific location; very close to Siena and other wonderful places in Tuscany. The accommodation is comfortable, and suitable for people who do not want to stay in a city. The rooms are spacious, rustic, and comfortable enough. The owner is a very nice lady, willing to help. You may take a look at her farm as well (with alpacas, donkeys, cats and other animals), which is great for children.
