Amazing place, after visiting you would love to stay and live in such place. Nature, food, animals, views and amazing starts at night. People that works there are amazing. You will be brought there by a jeep on an ancient road that was there since Roman Empire then you'll be met by lamas and yaks, after amazing dinner made of products from their farm you will be able to look at the starts in total darkness and forget about every problem in your life. Highly reccomend!

Room was quiet and well setup with bathroom near the balcony allowing for fresh air in the morning when you are getting ready. The blue room we had was simple, side tables, small safe, and area to put the luggage. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and housekeeping provided fresh towels. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the owner Fabio makes a nice cappuccino. The dinner was set in the evening with ingredients from their garden, but limited vegetarian mains. The area around the hotel is really relaxing and covered in forest with a small river and waterfalls nearby. There are chickens, sheep and horses next door (at another B&B), and plenty of fresh herbs and gardens going. The couple running the place are very hospitable.

This is a very special place, unlike your average Hotel in the village. La Selvaggia is at the upper end of Mandello in the middle of the beautiful nature away from everything - almost like a mountain hut. We were in Mandello for the Moto Guzzi Festival and we really enjoyed being able to get away from all of the people and the noise when going back to the hotel in the evening. The property is very well kept and there is a beautiful pool as well. You can see in everything that this is an owner run family business. It's just got this family touch. We only got to meet Vanessa and she was super nice.
While we liked the fact that this place is a bit remote, it might not be right for everyone. It's a 7-8 minute walk from the parking up to the hotel on a nature path. Nothing crazy and a lovely walk but if you are not so stable on your feet, it's not ideal. Vanessa will be happy to offer you and your luggage a lift between the parking and the hotel (quite an experience) but of course she can't do it every time you come/go.

a perfect country farm getaway
The farmhouse is romantic, in a very green, sunny and quiet area (we even saw deer down the path). Breakfast in your own room. The hosts are very, very nice and kind and do everything to make your stay great. You cannot reach the house by car (last 200 meters by foot) but they picked up our luggage and made us a marvelous dinner, served in a special dining room. We were staying with two adults, four teenagers and a dog. Thank you very much Nadia, Claudio and nonna, you made us feel very welcome!
